Car wrap installation shop workshop

Car Wrap Near Me

Curated US directory · 32 shops across 6 cities · last verified May 2026

The right installer matters more than the brand of film. A great shop with mid-tier vinyl beats a bad shop with 3M every time. Below: a curated directory of established wrap installers in the six largest US wrap markets, plus how to evaluate any shop before you book.

Editorial selections, not paid placements. Each listing was reviewed for industry reputation, certifications and portfolio depth as of May 2026. Verify current operating hours and request a written quote before visiting.

Los Angeles

06 shops · greater LA

Los Angeles has the highest concentration of wrap installers in North America. The market is mature, the competition is fierce, and the top shops here are among the most-followed wrap accounts in the world. Expect West Coast pricing (15-25% over national average) but also the deepest specialization — color-shift, satin chrome, and exotic-car-specific shops all live here.

New York City

06 shops · NYC metro

NYC's wrap market is concentrated in the outer boroughs and Long Island — Manhattan rents are prohibitive for the climate-controlled bays a quality wrap requires. Most quality NYC installers will be in Brooklyn, Queens, or further out on Long Island. Expect Northeast pricing (15-20% over national average) and 2-6 week booking lead times in peak season.

Miami

05 shops · greater Miami

Miami's wrap scene is dominated by exotic and supercar work — the region has one of the densest concentrations of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and McLarens in the US. Chrome and color-shift wraps are disproportionately popular here. Coastal salt air is hard on wraps — local shops favor satin chrome and brushed metallic over mirror chrome for daily drivers.

Houston

05 shops · greater Houston

Houston's wrap market skews commercial — fleet vehicles for oil & gas service companies, contractors, and last-mile delivery make up most of the volume. Retail wraps lean toward trucks (this is Texas) and luxury sedans. Texas pricing typically runs slightly below national average (5-10% lower) outside of premium shops.

Chicago

05 shops · Chicagoland

Chicago's wrap market is split between performance/tuner shops in the city and commercial/fleet installers in the suburbs. Cold winters and salt-treated roads are hard on wrap edges — local shops favor films with strong edge-adhesion and recommend extra edge-sealing for winter-driven cars.

Dallas–Fort Worth

05 shops · DFW metroplex

DFW has one of the fastest-growing wrap markets in the country — a combination of strong economy, low cost of operation for shops, and trucks-as-default vehicle culture. Plano and Frisco have emerged as the high-end shop concentrations; Fort Worth is heavier on truck and commercial work.

How to evaluate any wrap shop

// Checklist

1. Ask which film they actually use

A serious shop names the film by series, not just the brand. "We use 3M 2080" is good. "We use the wrap from 3M, the best one" is a yellow flag — they probably don't know themselves.

2. Look for manufacturer certifications

Both 3M and Avery Dennison run certified installer programs. Certification doesn't guarantee greatness, but it does mean the shop has passed installation tests and is using authentic film (counterfeit 3M is a real problem in the gray market).

3. Demand to see their portfolio in person

Instagram portfolios are heavily filtered and not always the shop's own work. Visit before you book. Look at:

4. Ask about the warranty

Film manufacturers warranty the material (typically 5-8 years). The shop should also warranty their workmanship — usually 1-2 years on labor. A shop that won't warranty their work in writing isn't confident in it.

5. Get the quote in writing with included items

The quote should specify: film brand & series, color/finish, coverage area (especially door jambs and behind handles), prep work included, install timeline, and warranty terms. Verbal-only quotes lead to surprises.

Red flags

FAQ

// Quick answers
How do I find a reputable car wrap shop near me?

Look for manufacturer certifications (3M, Avery Dennison), at least 5 years in business, a portfolio you can physically inspect, written workmanship warranty, and a real climate-controlled facility. Avoid shops that quote 30%+ below regional average or claim full wraps in one day.

How much should a full car wrap cost in 2026?

$2,500 to $7,000 for most vehicles in the US, depending on size, finish, and region. Luxury and supercars push past $8,000. Chrome and color-shift add 50-60% over standard gloss. See our cost calculator for a personalized estimate.

How long does it take to wrap a car?

3 to 5 days for a quality full vehicle wrap. Anyone claiming same-day full wraps is taking shortcuts that show up in 6-12 months as edge lifting.

What's the difference between PPF and vinyl wrap?

PPF (paint protection film) is clear and thicker, designed for rock-chip protection. Vinyl wrap is pigmented and thinner, designed for color change. Many shops offer both, often combined. See our detailed comparison.

Do car wrap shops offer warranties?

Yes. The film manufacturer warranties the vinyl itself (5-8 years depending on brand). The shop should also provide a workmanship warranty, typically 1-2 years.

Can I bring my own film?

Most reputable shops won't install customer-supplied film — they can't warranty the install if the film provenance isn't verified (counterfeit 3M is a real industry problem). Use the shop's stocked film.

Will the wrap damage my paint?

A quality install on factory paint in good condition will not damage paint. Wrapping over already-damaged or repainted surfaces can cause issues — the wrap bonds to the weakest layer, which can be the new paint if it wasn't properly cured.
